Terms, licence and privacy

Plain words, because you are buying from one person and should know exactly what you get.

The licence

Paying for Stashcut gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to install and use it on the Macs you personally use. A household with two Macs needs one licence. A company putting it on twenty machines needs twenty, or a word with hello@stashcut.com about a fair price.

You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute the app or a licence key. You may keep using the version you bought for as long as it runs on your Mac.

Updates

Every 1.x update is included. If a 2.0 ever appears with a price on it, people who bought 1.x will be told first and offered a discount.

Refunds

Fourteen days from purchase, no questions asked. Write to hello@stashcut.com from the address you bought with, and the payment is returned in full.

Privacy

Stashcut collects nothing. It has no account, no analytics, no crash reporter and no server of its own. Your clipboard history, settings and images live on your Mac, in your Library folder.

The only network requests the app makes are the ones you configure: the model endpoint you point Ask Your Clipboard at, and the 1Password or Obsidian applications on your own machine. If that endpoint is on this Mac, nothing leaves it. The Preferences pane says which case applies in one sentence.

The purchase itself is handled by the payment provider named at checkout. They receive what a payment needs (name, email, country, payment method). Stashcut receives your email address and the licence it belongs to, and uses it for the licence key and for nothing else.

Warranty and liability

Stashcut is provided as is. It is tested carefully and used every day by the person who makes it, and it is still software: it can have bugs. To the extent the law allows, there is no warranty beyond what is written here, and liability is limited to the price you paid. Nothing in these terms limits rights that consumer law gives you and that cannot be waived.

Third-party notices

Stashcut is built on Flycut, copyright General Arcade (Gennadiy Potapov), 2011 to 2020, and Jumpcut, copyright Steve Cook, 2002 to 2008. Both are released under the MIT License, reproduced in full in the app's Credits tab. Stashcut's own additions are proprietary.

Who you are dealing with

Stashcut is made and sold by Khalil Gharbaoui, the Netherlands. Contact: hello@stashcut.com.
